An In-Depth Study of Internet Gambling Habits and Responsible Online Casino Gambling Introduction By TerrapinInstitute.org Oct, 2023 The online gambling industry has experienced significant growth in recent years, with a global market value of over $58 billion in 2023. This growth has been attributed to several factors, including the increasing availability of smartphones and other internet-connected devices, the convenience of online gambling, and the growing popularity of esports betting. Understanding internet gambling habits is essential for several reasons:

The quantitative data was collected by surveying 1,000 online casino players. The survey included questions on gambling frequency, spending, game preferences, and responsible gambling practices. The qualitative data was collected by interviewing online casino operators and problem gambling treatment providers. The interviews explored the operators' perspectives on responsible gambling practices, the challenges they face in implementing them, and the treatment providers' insights into the characteristics and experiences of problem gamblers. We also conducted an interview with Nic Gough, a seasoned expert with over two decades of experience in the online casino industry, possessing comprehensive knowledge of its intricacies and operations."
